Good evening to you all!
It has been a busy week - as usual - but the great news is that we have completed our Red Shield District. The team of 6 went out on Monday evening and managed to complete our district in one and a half hours. Then we came back here to count up and have supper - bacon butties or lasagna and chips - all cooked by the resident chef, John!
I'm not sure if Major Albert was a help or a hindrance in the counting-up.
What I am glad about is thst it is all over for another year and thst the weather was kind to us - not too cold, dry and still.
Jonathan is preparing to visit Bedlington with our YP sections this weekend - so it will be quiet here on Saturday!
We have another Ambassadors rehearsal on Sunday - three new songs to learn in addition to some of our previous repertoire to re-learn. There's never a dull moment!
All for now. Look forward to seeing some of you very soon.

20th September
Good evening from a wet, windy, horrid evening in Blackpool. How does the weather always know when it is "Red Shield" collecting time? We plan to go out on Wednesday evening but if it stays like this we shall have to think again.
We've had a lovely weekend with David - at least, we had a lovely time yesterday. Saturday evening he arrived at Preston station at 11.55pm so it was only really yesterday that we all soent together. Meetings were good - Blackpool folk were pleased (as always) to see him and made him welcome. He left today and was spending some time with our CO before he caught the train. He sends greetings to those of you he knows.
School is as hectic as ever - Monday is my worst day - I have to teach all 5 lessons now I am about to start prep for tomorrow. Don't believe anyone who tells you a teacher finishes at 3.30pm. It's now 7.30pm and I am about to start again!! (Is that an aahhhhhhhh I can hear?)
All for now - well done to those wof you who have managed to post a reply, een if you don't know how you managed it - we're all learning together.
Bye.
