More photos of the Bishop

Just one or two more photos!

Introducing Bishop John

Hello to you all

May I introduce to you the Rt. Rev'd. Dr. John Langley, C.J. TH.D.

What a mouthful!!

We had a lovely day at John's Consecration service on Saturday. It was held at Oldham and was a moving occasion. John (and two others) was Consecrated as the Bishop for Western Australia (so the Lord must know something that we are still waiting to hear!). During the service John had to prostrate himself to be sprinkled with holy water and was then annointed with holy oil. He then received the symbols of Episcopal authority - his ring, crozier and mitre. You will be able to see some of this in the photos. You will see from his title that he was also awarded an honorary doctorate in Theology. C.J. is also a Church title meaning Companion of Jesus.

It was so good that John's mum was able to come to the service - along with one of his sisters and her husband. I was especially delighted that Margaret and Clive travelled from Swindon to be with us. It really was a very special occasion.

So now we continue to wait - for our house to be sold and our visa to be processed. Then John will be able to start his ministry "down under".

Bye for now.
